A rear tine rototiller is a machine that is used for cultivating soil and breaking up large clumps of soil. It's one of the most popular types of rototiller because it is easy to use and has a wide range of applications.

The main advantages of using a rear tine rototiller are that it is lightweight and easy to maneuver. It also has a wide blade that can cut through dense soil very easily, making it ideal for breaking up large clumps. Additionally, the rear tine design makes it easier to turn than other types of rototillers.

There are many different models of rear tine rototillers on the market, so finding the right one for you will depend on your specific needs. Make sure to read reviews and compare prices before making your purchase so you get the best deal possible.

EARTHQUAKE 37037 Pioneer Dual-Direction Rear Tine Tiller, Red/Black

  • DUAL DIRECTION- Operate in CRT mode (counter rotating tines) to bust sod and till tough soils, then shift to SRT (standard rotating tines) to create a smooth seed bed for planting.
  • FRUSTRATION FREE SHIFTING- Pioneer removes the guesswork from getting in gear with a shift positioning system that other dual direction tillers envy. No fuss, no cuss, no back and forth… easily find the drive mode you want by simply sliding the shift handle into your preferred mode on the locator plate.
  • COMPACT POWER- Designed for performance, the Pioneer uses a lighter and quieter 99cc Viper engine that is right-sized for the job reducing the weight and offering a smoother, less noisy and more balanced experience during operation.
  • INSTANT REVERSE- Unlike its competitors, Pioneer takes the “shift” out of backing up. Seamlessly maneuver backward in your garden with the quick pull of a handle. Release the handle to go forward again.
  • AIRLESS WHEELS- Not only will the super-wide airless wheels never go flat, they have seriously aggressive lugs for clawing at the dirt for maximum traction.

Assembly was not difficult at all, just look carefully at pictures of similar bolts to use the correct ones in their locations. Starts very easily and quickly and runs powerfully yet fairly quietly. Relatively fast spinning tines made quick work of hard sod previously turned with a shovel. Strong recommendation here.

I don't do a ton of tilling, but had purchased this to make things easier for myself. I'm a single woman in my 60's without a lot of upper body strength. Since buying this tiller, I've been able to till 2 very large areas for planting grass seed, and one large area for planting bulbs. I have thick, clay soil with lots of rocks and hidden roots. This has handled all of these tasks beautifully and I love that it's so very simple to operate. It's very powerful so I always need to be sure to keep a good grip on it so it doesn't get away from me. A nice safety feature is that it shuts off the instant you release the handle. The blades do not keep whirling after the handle is released. I assume that most people are stronger than I am, so for those who are, this thing should be a breeze to use. Though I don't use it frequently, I think this was well worth the investment, and it's already paid for itself. It's built very sturdily, and gives me the freedom to tackle projects on own without having to wait for or pay my yard guy. It can till to a depth of 8", though you can go deeper with subsequent passes. I like that it's electric and I advise using a low guage extention cord as recommended, to get the most power & longevity from this device. Also, it's nice that it doesn't take up a ton of room in my garage. I couldn't have done my planting without it, and so far I've had great results. If you need a tiller, I definitely recommend this one. I'm glad to have it in my arsenal of tools.

Perfect to make little 'trenches' for poor mans irrigation. Running 1/2” poly line all over with zones sprinklers timed right for the areas saves thousands vs digging up the yard, but still left with hundreds of feet of black pipe to cover along the perimeter. Thought about slowly transitioning to flostline depth real irrigation, then stumbled on this gem. Couldn't recommend as a replacement for a tiller, not designed for that. But the narrow width and electric motor torque is perfect for a couple inch tiny trench for irrigation, landscape border, etc. Hit a rock and it's so light it'll just bounce out. For the price, worth it and worth tucking away for another project later

So far, so good. The delivery came as promised, in good shape, to my rural address. It is a beast, so you might need a helper to haul it for assembly. (Yes, there is some manual assembly required, but not much. I'm not particularly "mechanical" and I think it took me an hour of assembly.) ADD OIL. Then this sucker started on the first pull. I cleared about 550 square feet of grass down to for or five inches in 45 minutes. Hit a couple of rocks the size of my fist, which is about the size of some rocks, for your reference. :) But it just set 'em on top of the ground for me to pick out. All in all, very pleased. I'll update review after I run it some more. I have a lot of ground to break.

Tiller was easy to assemble and the instructions are clearly English. I took the tiller to my garden immediately and it worked well even in our Texas clay/loamy soil. I will tighten the belt tension tomorrow because it squealed a couple times. Make sure to choke the engine or it will be hard to start! The tiller worked great without hesitation (lots of power) and I exerted very little effort. I like easy:)

I have arthritis and knew that I couldn't handle a large machine. In the past, it was difficult to dig holes to plant bushes, but with this machine I uncovered old bushes, huge rocks, paving stones & construction trash that were buried in the yard. The rototiller was lightweight and easy for me to handle. I cleared a 20 foot by 40 foot part of the yard for my new garden. (before and after photos) I've used the rototiller to dig a drainage trench around the fence, clear an area for a landing step and dig holes for shrubs. Very happy with this purchase.

You're unsure of which rear tine rototiller to buy, and you don't have time to research it further.

Buying a rototiller can be a daunting task, especially if you don't have any experience. Not only do you have to worry about the specs, but you also have to factor in the price and the quality.

They typically come with a variety of features and specifications, so you can find the right one for your needs. Plus, our team is available 24/7 to answer any questions that you might have. So don't wait any longer, start shopping for your perfect rear tine rototiller today!

Are Rear Tine Tillers Better?

There is no single answer to this question as there are a variety of factors that need to be considered when making a decision about which tillers are the best for your particular needs. Here are some things to keep in mind when looking at rear tine tillers:

Rear tine tillers tend to be more efficient in terms of work done per unit of time.

Rear tine tillers are usually easier to operate and are less likely to require maintenance than other tillers.

Rear tine tillers can handle heavier loads than other Tillers, making them ideal for larger farms or properties.

How Much Can You Till With A Rear Tine Tiller?

There's no one answer to this question, as the amount of tillage that can be done with a rear tine tiller will vary depending on the size and type of tiller being used, as well as the conditions on the property being worked.

That being said, using a rear tine tiller on a well-tilled soil should be able to achieve a depth of about 12 inches, while on less-tilled orcland or sandy soils, the tiller may be able to penetrate up to 18 inches.

What Is A Rear Tine Tiller Used For?

A rear tine tiller is a powerful tool that is used to till soil and turn over the topsoil. It is a versatile machine that can be used for a variety of tasks, such as planting, weeding, and harvesting.

Depending on the model, the rear tine tiller may also include a front tine to help with turning.

What Is The Easiest Tiller To Use?

There isn't really a "easiest" tiller to use, as the best one for any given person depends on their individual gardening needs and preferences. That said, some of the more popular and well-rated tilling tools include:

The Honda Powered Tiller - This is a reliable and compact machine that is perfect for smaller gardens or yards. It has an easy-to-use power lever and does a great job at breaking up the soil so that you can plant your seeds or flowers more easily.

The Black & Decker Tiller - This machine is perfect for those with larger gardens or yards. It has a wide tilling width and can handle a lot of soil with ease. Plus, it comes with a number of built-in features that make tilling easier, such as an automatic cultivator and a reverse function that helps you drag roots out of the ground.

The Husqvarna 570HD Tiller - This machine is perfect for those who want something that is both powerful and versatile. It has a large tilling width and can handle large areas with ease. Plus, it has several other features that make it ideal for gardeners, such as an automatic brake system, variable speed control, and a fuel tank that is easy to refill.

So whichever tiller you choose, make sure to take into account your individual needs and preferences before making your decision. Happy gardening!

What Is Better Forward Or Reverse Tiller?

This is a tricky question, as both tools have their own advantages and disadvantages. In general, forward tillers are better for larger areas while reverse tillers are better for smaller areas. They both have their pros and cons, so it really comes down to personal preferences and what you're most likely to use your tractor for.

Some other factors to consider when choosing a tractor include the height of the bucket, the speed of the engine, and the number of gear options available. Hope that helps!

Should Rototiller Blades Be Sharpened?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best way to sharpen a rototiller blade will depend on the type of rototiller blade you have and how often it needs to be sharpened.

However, there are a few guidelines that can help you judge when it's time to sharpen your rototiller blade:

When the blades start to wobble or seem difficult to turn - When your rototiller blade is starting to wobble or seem difficult to turn, it's time to sharpen it.

Sharpen the blades every time they start to feel this way - even if they've only been used a couple of times.

When the blades start to clog - If your rototiller blades start to clog up with grass or soil, it's time to sharpen them. This happens more often than you might think, and sharpening your rototiller blades can help clear out the obstruction and prevent further clogging.

When the blade becomes dull - If your rototiller blade becomes significantly dull, it's time to get it sharpened. A dull rototiller blade will not be able to cut through grass or soil as easily, which could lead to problems down the road.

If you have any additional questions about how or when to sharpen your rototiller blades, please feel free to contact us at any time! We would be happy to help!

How Deep Can A Rear Tine Tiller Dig?

A rear tine tiller is specifically designed to till soil and prepare it for planting. It has a number of tines - the rear ones are specifically designed to penetrate deep into the soil.

This allows the tiller to break up the soil and loosen it so that seeds can be planted more easily.
